On September 19, Ana Cordeiro, Consul General of Portugal in Guangzhou, Mário Ferreira, Vice Consul for Commercial Affairs, and their entourage visited FNU. Vice President of FNU Liu Sannvya met with the guests, and the relevant persons in charge of the International Office and the College of Foreign Languages participated in the meeting.
On behalf of FNU, Liu welcomed the visit of Consul General Ana Cordeiro and her delegation, and briefly introduced the situation of our university's school running and international cooperation and exchange. He said that China-Portugal friendship has a long history, and FNU has friendly exchanges and cooperation with relevant Portuguese universities in the field of higher education. He hoped that this visit will be an opportunity to establish partnerships with more Portuguese universities and develop a multi-level and multi-dimensional mode of cooperation, which will facilitate cultural and artistic exchanges, cooperation in scientific research, and innovation in talent cultivation between Chinese and Portuguese universities.
Consul General Ana Cordeiro highly affirmed the achievements FNU has made in opening up to the outside world in terms of education and its positive contributions in friendly cultural exchanges between China and Portugal, and expressed her willingness to help promote multi-faceted industry-university-research cooperation between FNU and Portuguese universities or enterprises, and the professional construction of the English-Portuguese direction of FNU. She hoped that both sides will continue to maintain in-depth cooperation in various fields, and set up more platforms for exchanges and learning for the English-Portuguese majors to cultivate more excellent envoys of friendship between China and Portugal.
After the meeting, the two sides attended the exhibition about the life and works of Agustina Bessa-Luís, a famous Portuguese writer.
